Das Avenida Palace ist ein erstklassiges Haus - leider ohne Restaurant. Die Lage ist optimal, sodass man das Meiste blendend zu Fuß erreichen kann. Das Personal ist freundlich und äußerst hilfsbereit. Die Bar ist Top.
Es ist ein altes Grand Hotel, was in die Jahre gekommen ist, was seinem Charme aber absolut keinen Abbruch tut.

“Amazing Hotel in Lisbon´s heart”

Celebrating our wedding anniversary around Portugal and Spain we booked for 3 nights in this lovely Hotel. As we arrived we were greeted by our names. The Reception and Concierge Staffs were outstanding. Our room was nice and we had some welcome anniversary gifts. The Buffet Breakfast was very good and it was served in a lovely classic room. Although The Hotel location couldn't be better, right in the center of Lisbon, it has a calm and quiet atmosphere. As the room rate included the car parking it made it a really good value for the money. Kept in our hearts.

“Unique Charm Hotel”

This was a stay to be treasured. As we entered the Avenida Palace, we entered a luxury atmosphere. The decor of the main lounge is breathtaking. Our suites were spacious and well equipped. We loved the fruit basket on our arrival. Although the hotel had no Restaurant, it made no difference because the concierge had a lot of suggestions in the surroundings. The hotel is rather central. Breakfast is great and the breakfastroom is one of a kind. The staff was very nice and helpful.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Avenida Palace. The room was spacious and clean with all the expected amenities, and with a wonderful view. The location could not be beat. The public areas were charming and luxurious. We would not hesitate to return.

“A jewel in the best location”

we stayed at the avenida palace for five days. we wanted to visit lisbon and sintra. our car was kept the whole time in the hotel garagefor free . the bedroom was not too big but it was classy. there is an outstanding living room/ bar with live music when we arrived. the staff is great. the hotel location is the best. we will surely return.

The "palace experience" was great. Make no mistake, I thought that the facilities were well worth the expense paid. I was a bit taken aback by being required to pay for the WIFI. Also, the whole rituals of having a staff member deliver the WIFI password to my room and having the maid deliver a US to Portuguese converter. Such items should be handled at the desk as is standard in most hotels. It would cut out the interruptions. The quality of everything was tip top, so I would definitely recommend your hotel for those who would like a "palace experience".

“Perfectly positioned and wonderful staff - especially the Concierge”
My friends and I stayed at the hotel to celebrate my birthday. Our stay was wonderful and the staff could not have done more to help make our stay as memorable as possible. A delicious bottle of chilled rose wine was sent to my room, with compliments from the management, The Concierge, in particular, was amazing. He always found time to give us the guidance we needed to ensure that our visit to Lisbon was all that it could have been - from advice on restaurants, making bookings for us and telling us the quickest and best routes from A to B. The hotel is very centrally located for all sight-seeing. It has an air of grandeur about it, particularly in the public rooms. For position and helpful staff, I doubt that you can do better.

“Incredible hotel”
Super hotel, beautifully appointed. One of the best features is the bar - old world style with lovely wood paneling, carpets, furniture, artwork. Another great feature is the lavish circular staircase - and it's worth the hike to the top to see every floor. Service was impeccable, with fresh fruit every morn, and wonderful concierge service. Right next to the Rossio, train station, so take a train to Sintra, a fairyland spot. Trains run constantly, so not to worry about the schedule. Radiating out from the hotel are great bars and restaurants, and a major shopping avenue if that turns your key. Rooms are very well appointed, very comfortable - we had a junior suite. Nights were quiet, and you can open the windows for night air if you like.

“Great Location”
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend. The hotel is in a great location; city, metro, trams and shops all within easy walking distance. Breakfast was good and the staff were lovely and very helpful. It is a beautiful old building too. Would stay there again if we could get it at the same price.

“Best location with style...”
Just returned from long weekend in Lisbon... we picked Avenida Palace for its location and the style... none of which has disappointed us! You really can't beat the location... the building and its style are grand... Now, the common facilities and rooms could do with some updating.... but since we never spend much time at the hotel, the few flaws did not bother us... Since it is an old palace building, rooms do not have the same lay-out meaning that all have some pros and cons... our had great view and high ceilings but the bathroom was really on the small side.... The only other issue were the pillows, they were too hard and so not the most comfortable...
Overall experience was good and we would stay here again...

“Old-style comfort”

Real oldtime luxury at the best possible location in Lisbon. Excellent helpful staff, delicious breakfast, well-kept beatiful interior. The room is a little small and beds narrow, but I guess this how it was 100 years ago. Overall - unforgettable and romantic. On top of all this, valet parking is included! This convenience is almost impossible to find in any touristy place in Portugal, let alone Lisbon.

The hotel location is great. The staff seems to be there to please us. Our room was big enough and very confortable. All the premises are very well mantained, as if it had opened yesterday. the breakfast room is rather elegant and the breakfast itself was very good.

A special thanks to the female manager on reception who promptly responded to my telephone request to cancel my room key when my wallet was stolen. Unfortunately I did not record her name. She was efficient and professional throughout my stay. The doormen were also exceedingly polite and welcoming at all times.

“Beautiful, Location, Wonderful staff!”

We arrived late in the evening after a long flight from the USA. We were greeted by a charming young man at the check in who upgraded us to a great room with a terrific view, just as I had requested in my pre-booking form! WOW, someone really looked at my request! The bedroom, sitting area, and bath are very large for European standards. You will feel like you are walking into a real palace! The hotel was built about a hundred years ago and has been graciously maintained. The center staircase is out of a movie! The location cannot be beat. Everyone from the young man in the bar in the evening to the bellmen, front desk, and concierge made us feel welcome and happy to have us...the entire 3 night stay. We have recommended you and will continue to do so again! Really great experience.

“A Perfect Gem in a Perfect Location!”

We visited the Hotel Avenida Palace last December prior to our transatlantic cruise. Orginally we had booked the hotel for two nights then changed to one day becuase we thought we would be able to see everything in the city during one full evening and a day. This was our first big mistake.

It was dark when we arrived in Lisbon and the streets were lined with amazing and beautiful Christmas lights. As we pulled up to the hotel we were in amazingment of how the hotel looked. Believe it or not the pictures actually looked exactly like the ones showed on their website.

I biggest fear when going to room was to see if the rooms looked the same. I had seen all varying styles and piictures all of which were not the same. Did we ever get lucky when we opened the door to experience 1800's fine luxury accomadations. When we bulled back the long flowing 10 foot drapes the view was facing the plaza. It truly started off an amazing vacation.

Shortly after unpacking we walked the city for miles. This hotel could not be in a more perfect location. Everywhere you turned you were next to major attractions. Lisbon is NOT a city to spend just one day. You really need two minimum days to capture all its beauty.

The morning we had a wonderful breakfast. I am not a fan at all of European food, especially breakfast. However, with the assortment of fruits, pastries, and meats it satisfied my picky taste.

I can't say enoght good things about this hotel, it's location and the wonderful city of Lisbon. I've never written a review before, however I always appreciated reading ones from travellers like yourself.

I've stayed at some of the worlds most amzing hotels from Ritz Carlton, Four Season's, the W Hotel and many more. Hotel Avenida Palace recieves 5 stars from me.

"Excellent location, in a charming building with a competent staff”

Staying there I understood some reviewers that qualified the hotel as a bit used. Well, the hotel is over 100 yrs old, not fake old as many 5 star counterparts. We got a renovated room in the second floor and felt like staying in a palace. There are no cramped corridors and the ceiling is over 5 meters high (in the corridor, not the room). Staff pointed us to good places, suggested trips. The only downside is the breakfast buffet. Although varied and located in a superb room, its quality left something to be desired. Ah, and wi-fi coverage is spotty and expensive.

Ubicación privilegiada y soberbia arquitectura en pleno centro de la ciudad. Por dentro es grandioso, para disfrutar. Excelente servicio y atención al cliente. Puedo decir que es uno de los mejores en los que me he podido hospedar.
Ya desde la entrada notas que es un hotel distinto, ya desde la entrada se respira tranquilidad y relax.
Tiene unos salones maravillosos con una decoración clásica y señorial como no merece menos este tipo de establecimientos. Con música de piano en vivo que le da un aire de relax. Así puedes disfrutar de un café o una comida escuchando música clásica.
El desayuno es fantástico, buffet, parece que estas desayunando en tu propia casa no se escucha una voz mas alta que otra.
La habitación magnifica con una decoración clásica y elegante pero muy funcional. Unos armarios empotrados gigantes y forrados de madera. El baño es gigante.
El personal es magnifico súper servicial y amable de los mejores que me han atendido

“The Avenida Hotel is a 10 star hotel”

We stayed at the Avenida in Lisboa from Feb. 13 - Feb 16th then returned for one more eveinging on Feb. 18th. The hotel is absolutely charming, the service goes above and beyond whats asked for. The breakfast is first rate. Rather than spend four fares on a half day bus tour to Sindra, the staff recommended we hire a car for eight hours which cost the same amount as a half day bus tour. We felt as though we had hit the jackpot with this hotel. I do not have one single bad word to say about them. The hotel is near everything and very central. The area is more than safe, the views wonderful and for a hotel in a main part of the city, the rooms are very quiet.

On our last evening at the hotel, I broke a tooth and the hotel staff was unbelievably accomodating. They walked my friends to the pharmacy, assisted in calling my dentist in NYC and helped us get whatever I needed. If it were up to me, I'd give them a 10 star rating.

“Friendly, elegant and charming hotel, centrally located”
Very good hotel, staff is very helpful and friendly.
Very good (i.e. central) location to visit the main attractions in the centre of Lisbon.
The palace style of the hotel is very charming and elegant.
One small drawback : the very beautiful and antique palace meeting room in the centre of the hotel on the ground floor is a 100% smoking room. Smoking should be restricted to a smaller part of that room separated from the rest of the room by panes of glass.

“Classy hotel in a fantastic central location”

This hotel is very classy and is fit to be called a 'Palace'
It is fantastically furnished and the staff are excellent, attentive but not intrusive.
Lisbon is a great city only being spoiled (slightly!) by the hassle of street vendors and beggers. However, we never felt intimidated.
There is a restaurant on the corner, just beyond the station, looks the part but is expensive and very disappointing. Young Liberty, is a music bar at the front of the hotel, is good and has excellent live music till late at weekends.
Overall the Avenida Palace is a good place for a long weekend!

“Travel agent and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon!”

The first thing to say about this hotel is it's location is absolutely brilliant. You can get off the airport bus and see the hotel instantly. You've got Rossio train station right next door if you want to make a day trip to Sintra and you're just a minute's walk to one of the busiest streets for great sea food restaurants.(...) I'm a travel agent and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon.

“El Hotel hace honor al nombre”

He permanecido aquí en un viaje de turismo con mi mujer. La ubicación es imbatible. Mi habitación era buena y miraba directamente a la Plaza de Restauradores. El servicio es estupendo y respetuoso por parte del personal. El Hotel tiene un gimnasio, pequeño más con todo el esencial. Hay muchos restaurantes en los alrededores. “Una buena sorpresa”

Este es un hotel encantador y muy central, cerca de la movida de Lisboa. Tiene Parking gratuito, lo que es bueno, porque viajamos en coche. Excellent hôtel que je recommanderai vraiment à mes amis. La situation géographique pour une visite de Lisbonne à pied est parfaite. L'isolation phonique de l'hôtel est excellente car malgré sa situation au centre ville on ne perçoit aucun bruit à l'intérieur. La décoration est luxueuse. Les buffets du petit déjeuner sont copieux et diversifiés. Un ensemble d'un très bon rapport qualité / prix.

“Vraiment exceptionnel hôtel au coeur de la ville”
L'hôtel Avenida palace est l'un des meilleurs hôtels ou nous sommes descendus. Nous avions pris une suite junior. L'accueil et le service sont remarquables (je vous conseille de demander des conseils au concierge: ils s'occupent de tout réservation et taxi, et vous etes très bien placés dans les restaurants conseilles). Les chambres sont propres et calmes (ce qui est tres important pour nous). Le petit déjeuner est très complet, et là aussi dans une atmosphère calme et détendue, avec un service parfait. Enfin, ce qui est loin d'être négligeable, l'hôtel est parfaitement placé en plein centre ville: sur la place des Restauradores, a deux pas de la place des Figueras (Départ de quasi tous les bus et tramways. La gare est juste à côté (pratique pour les sorties sur Sintra ou Estoril), et idéalement placé pour circuler, visiter, et si besoin venir refaire une pause à l'hôtel. A conseiller sans aucune hésitation. Quant à nous nous y retournerons pour une prochaine escapade à Lisbonne.

"Avenida Palace - a cosmopolitan luxury hotel in an ideal location in the centre of Lisbon"

The Avenida Palace lived up to its rating as a luxury 5-star hotel. Reception staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Chambermaids provided faultless service, and were very discreet. While the hotel was busy, the dining-room staff (at breakfast) were over-stretched, and some tables were too close together, or too near the kitchen doors.
It would be hard to improve on the hotel's central location. The lounges were spacious and comfortable, and the view from the breakfast room over the Praca Dos Restauradores is truly impressive.
Bedrooms were well-appointed, and the air-conditioning system was superb. Unfortunately, the bed was too firm, and the hotel was unable to provide a soft duvet or similar to lie over the mattress.

“The hotel and its staff are near perfection.”

The service was impeccable. The rooms beautifully appointed, spacious and clean. The double glazing on the windows keeps the rooms absolutely quiet, which is remarkable because of the traffic outside, in this central location. Walking into the hotel off the busy street is like finding a beautiful cool oasis. The breakfast was excellent and the staff cordial and helpful. This is one of the best values I have experienced and I travel frequently. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants luxury in a perfectly central city setting.

“Perfect location for exploring Lisbon”

Visited Lisbon for the first time to celebrate a significant anniversary. Saw this hotel on Trip Advisor and decided it was just the ticket for our 5 day city break.

Arrived at 11:00 am three hours early due to an early morning flight, intending to drop our bags off and get some sight seeing done. But, room was already ready and we were checked in immediately. Room was great, a double aspect view, large bedroom, internal lobby and bathroom. Manager sent up a free bottle of champagne to kick the celebrations off - so we did, at 11:10 on a Sunday morning.

Location is ideal. Right next door is the Rossio main railway line (€3.40 return to fairy tale Sintra with its fantastic Palaces and Morrish Castle, trains leave every 20 mins), in front of the hotel is the Restauradores Metro stop (€1.30 takes you to nearly every stop on the Metro). Two stops on the Metro is the Cais do Sodré railway line(A 40 min train journey from here is the beautiful resort of Cascais - go if you have time).

From the hotel, across the Praca Dom Pedro square is the matrix of shops called the Baxia. Excellent for tailoring and leather goods. Also, in the evening to get to the restaurants, bars and experience Fado music in the exciting Bairro Alto area (on a hill behind the hotel), walk a hundred metres up the Avenue da Liberdade and jump on the Glória Elevator - an electric tram which deposits you at bar level ready to hit the town.

Meanwhile, the Avenida Palace Hotel is a quiet oasis in the centre of all the main Lisbon attractions. There are plently of pictures on other reviews - the hotel is as glorious as shown and we could not see any wear and tear.

Breakfast is excellent, and all the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly.

Only two small moans - Firstly, there was no complementary coffee/tea/water in the room. To off set this room service was quick and reasonable (€12 for tea and cakes for two) and the mini bar was well stocked, but at the usual mini bar prices.

Secondly, the bar was a little quiet and I would have liked to seen a pianist one evening in the lobby/bar, just to help the pre/post dinner drinks go down smoothly.

We really liked Lisbon, try dinner in San Pedro Alcántara restaurant (Bairro Alto), ask for a window seat looking out over Lisbon rooftops towards the Castle of Sáo Jorge. Enjoy a good Argentinian steak whist watching the sun set over this great little city.

P.S. - Street beggars and hawkers are everywhere - but be polite, say no and don't get engaged in conversation, they quickly move on.

“The grand old hotel still has what it takes”

Beautiful! The location could not be better. You can walk to any of the "turist" sites of Lisbon. If you enjoy history this hotel has it! Very elegant, the hotel still has the charm and elegance of a bygone era without looking dated. It is old but definately not "worn out". The rooms are huge and very comfortable with small detail like piped in classical music (you can turn it off) which make a difference. Very good breaksfast and very attentive staff. Talk to the concierge and they will give you some excellent options and inside knowledge of restaurants, Fado houses, and tours to ear by places.
The hotel, the rooms, the staff, the location, and the decor definately rate a 5 star!
I had a view of the main street but the room was perfectly silent when the windows were closed.

“Years ago , after walking in, I determined to stay our next Lisbon trip!”

The Avenida Palace is magical. The public areas are from another grand era. It is as if you are royalty as you wander around the hotel. The decor and furnishings are to be absorbed as you read the paper in the magnificent lobby, have breakfast in the elegant 2nd floor reception room or descend the winding stairwell. The staff are helpful and friendly. Our room faced the street between two lovely squares. Best of all, the location is ideal. In the very heart of Lisbon yet next door to the restored train station to Sintra, it is perfect for sightseeing, shopping and dining. I am already plotting our next stay!

"Top noch hotel"
Stayed for five nights to attend a conference and meetings. Could not be more satisfied with the Avenida Palace hotel. Excellent location right in the heart of the city. Staff were attentive and helpful and my room was spacious and very clean. Beds were extremely comfotable. The breakfast was as good as I've experienced with a wide variety of food to choose from.
Had a slight problem with the internet connection but that was sorted promptly and efficiently.
All my colleagues rated this hotel highly and I heard no complaints from any of them.

We were very pleased with your hotel and the beautiful view from our window (room 206). We also apprecheated that the noice from the street below did not disturb us because of th double windows. Your personel was very friendly and efficient. Be sure that we shall recomend your hotel to all our friends wisiting Lisboa and we hope to stay at your hotel whenever we are in Lisboa.
